Spring Interns Rebecca and Michael at our Medley Event

Located in the up-and-coming neighborhood of Bay View, Milwaukee Children’s Choir is a non-profit, dedicated to providing exceptional choral music education and performance experiences that foster creativity, personal expression and social growth. Our Artistic Director brings together talented singers from the Greater Milwaukee Area to spread their love of music.

If you are in the field of Information Technology, Public Relations, Marketing, Graphic Design, or Event Planning we have the internship you’re looking for. Each semester, MCC selects upbeat and driven individuals to work on projects that will enhance their skills. Our summer 2016 IT intern, Colin, expressed that this internship “challenged [him] to expand [his] thinking and operate independently…which was as real learning experience”.

Within this internship, you will get firsthand experience in your field that will help you in your future career. Nikki, our summer 2016 marketing intern was pleased that she “got the opportunity to do real work that made a difference and gained knowledge that you cannot get while sitting in a classroom” at MCC. Now, she feels more prepared and confident of taking on another marketing internship because of her time at Milwaukee Children’s Choir.

Not only do you gain new skills, you will also perfect the skills you already have. Summer 2016 graphic design intern, Kirsten “developed a sense of confidence within the adobe suites and as a graphic designer”.

Furthermore, the staff at MCC works tirelessly to make sure all of the interns’ expectations are being met, which is another plus of interning here. Our summer 2016 event planning intern, Alaina, noted that “[the staff] is always willing to bend-over-backwards for [the interns]”. It’s reassuring to know that you have professionals in your field to collaborate with on each project you do.

Interning at Milwaukee Children’s Choir is a great experience of learning how a successful non-profit operates, but the work is just half of it. Another no-brainer reason to intern here is because of the interns you will get to collaborate with. Summer 2016 public relations intern, Brianna, “loved working with other interns because they gave [her] constructive feedback and was able to bounce ideas off of them”. The team-like atmosphere that MCC provides is truly remarkable and allows each intern to expand their area of expertise.
