Artistic Positions

Music Director of Prelude Choirs 

Milwaukee Children's Choir is seeking a Music Director for our children's choir consisiting of grades 1 and 2. Rehearsals are held on Tuesdays, 6-7pm at the Milwaukee Youth Arts Center and on Wednesdays, 6-7pm at Mt. Carmel Lutheran Church. Our program uses Voice for Life curriculum in teaching music theory, terminology and sigh-reading. Singers perform at least three times each season which this year runs September 11- May 18. 

The candidate for this position should possess a bachelor degree or higher in music or music education. She/he should have a working knowledge of age appropriate choral music literature. She/he should be able to work effectively with students, parents, colleagues and the general public. She/he should have strong vocal skills and an ability to lead a rehearsal from the keyboard.

Milwaukee Children's Choir is currently hiring for internships in the following areas: Information Sciences and Website Administrator/Social Media. Milwaukee Children's Choir promises a WONDERFUL internship experience! Interns are offered experiences on a semester-by-semester basis (fall, spring and summer), and the unpaid internship can lead to a paid student hourly appointment after three months of service and learning. Reports to: Executive Artistic Director, Lynn Swanson

Preference will be given to UWM's School of Information Studies's students, for which this internship will count as fieldwork credit under the direction of Chad Zahrt.

The Information Sciences Intern is an unpaid, project-based, and career-specific internship for the Milwaukee Children's Choir. This position may qualify for field work under the supervision of Chad Zahrt, Assistant Dean of Student Services. Within the project site, the intern reports to the Executive Director.

Information Technology Intern

Internship Description:
The Milwaukee Children's Choir seeks a part-time intern to assist in the maintenance and advancement of the organization's technology resources. The intern will review current processes and tools, and provide ideas and suggestions for improvement. Tasks may include updating or installing software, working on Google Apps for Education to increase office productivity, managing records in our Excel and Donor Snap databases, and organizing IT information including log-ins, passwords, and software. The intern will also assist in updating, managing and publishing content on the organization's weebly website.
