The Milwaukee Children’s Choir, under the leadership of the Executive Artistic Director Lynn Swanson, has cast a new vision for the organization that builds on the strong legacy of Founder & Music Director Emeritus Emily Crocker. We will endeavor to strengthen our presence on the international choral stage through continued collaborative efforts with the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra and the Milwaukee Ballet, while seeking partnerships with other exceptional arts organizations flourishing not only in Milwaukee but around the world.

Milwaukee Children’s Choir founded in 1994, the Milwaukee Children’s Choir (MCC) is a non-profit professional children’s choral organization servicing the Greater Milwaukee area. We provide exceptional vocal training based on sound pedagogical practices specifically designed for children’s voices. We customize curriculum that stems from sequential music learning theory to meet the cognitive developmental stages of our singers. We foster creativity through the encouragement of personal expression and enable social growth by developing a team spirit within our learning environment.

Overview: MCC is in search of three passionate choral educators/conductors to be a part of our artistic team and serve three choirs:

Introductory Choir, ages 6-9, Associate Director

Preparatory Choir, ages 9-12, Associate Director

Bass Chorale, ages 13-18, (changed and unchanged boys' voices), Associate Director 

The following part-time positions are open for the 2019-2020 season. Applications will be accepted until positions are filled.

To apply, send cover letter with resume/CV with three references along with a video recording of a live performance or rehearsal that you conducted for the ages for which you are applying. The recording may be submitted as a YouTube link or sent as a DVD. Materials will not be returned. Finalists will receive an in-person interview with Executive Artistic Director Lynn Swanson.

Milwaukee Children's Choir is currently hiring for internships in the following areas: Information Sciences and Website Administrator/Social Media. Milwaukee Children's Choir promises a WONDERFUL internship experience! Interns are offered experiences on a semester-by-semester basis (fall, spring and summer), and the unpaid internship can lead to a paid student hourly appointment after three months of service and learning. Information Sciences Intern

Position: Information Sciences Intern
Hours per Week: 10+ hours/week
Compensation: Unpaid, college credits may apply

Reports to: Executive Artistic Director, Lynn Swanson

Preference will be given to UWM's School of Information Studies's students, for which this internship will count as fieldwork credit under the direction of Chad Zahrt.

​Internship Description:
The Information Sciences Intern is an unpaid, project-based, and career-specific internship for the Milwaukee Children's Choir. This position may qualify for field work under the supervision of Chad Zahrt, Assistant Dean of Student Services. Within the project site, the intern reports to the Executive Director.

Information Technology Intern

Internship Description:
The Milwaukee Children's Choir seeks a part-time intern to assist in the maintenance and advancement of the organization's technology resources. The intern will review current processes and tools, and provide ideas and suggestions for improvement. Tasks may include updating or installing software, working on Google Apps for Education to increase office productivity, managing records in our Excel and Donor Snap databases, and organizing IT information including log-ins, passwords, and software. The intern will also assist in updating, managing and publishing content on the organization's weebly website.
