The Milwaukee Children’s Choir is looking for passionate volunteers to join our Board of Directors. Your leadership and active participation as a Director plays a critical role in the Choir’s ability to fulfil its mission and vision, now and into the future.
The Board of Directors of Milwaukee Children’s Choir has a responsibility to the community as well as to the Choir itself. The following specific expectations are intended to ensure that all Directors agree to a basic common understanding of what is required to fulfil those responsibilities:
✰ Uphold and affirm the organization’s philosophy, mission, policies, and vision.
✰ Attend at least 75% of the Board and committee meetings; volunteer for the Board and its related activities 6-10 hours/month on an annual basis; and attend at least two MCC performances during the year.
✰ Make an annual financial contribution to Milwaukee Children’s Choir, ensuring that it is a priority among the organizations that you support.
✰ Promote the financial health of the organization.
✰ Act in the best interests of the organization, and abstain from any discussions or votes that might lead to, or be perceived as, a conflict of interest.
✰ Be an informed advocate of the organization’s work.
✰ Share your time, talent, treasure, and influence.
✰ Select the Executive Director and Artistic Director, and support and evaluate their work.
✰ Keep the work of the Board of Directors confidential, unless there is reason to celebrate and share good news with the public.
✰ Support the decisions of the Board.
