When I moved into the Board President role in March, I quickly realized that re-building the MCC Board of Directors to better support and drive success of the organization was a top priority. In particular, we targeted new members with strong financial skills to rebuild our finance team, as well as fill the Treasurer role. We are thrilled to say that we accomplished these first steps, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic and the many nonprofits in need of support.

With that, we want to welcome Ross Bukouricz, MCC’s newest Board member and Treasurer. Ross is seamlessly stepping in and helping create a 3-year financial plan to stabilize and grow MCC, particularly during COVID-19.

We also want to give a warm welcome to new Board members Lauren Arndt, who brings an excellent financial background with experience in nonprofit work, and Kathryn Lomasney, a local attorney with strong skills and interest in board governance. We are so excited that Ross, Lauren and Kathryn have chosen to work with MCC. We know they will make a positive contribution to MCC and the Milwaukee community.

The work of growing our Board isn’t over. We continue to seek individuals with the right skills and expertise to support our mission. In particular, we are now looking for candidates with the following skills and knowledge:

  • Social media/web presence
  • Marketing and recruitment
  • Fundraising and stewardship

This is an opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of our young people. If you are interested in discussing opportunities to serve on the Milwaukee Children’s Choir Board – or if you know someone who may have the skills and interests we are looking for –  please contact MCC’s Development Director, Tasha Sorenson at tsorenson@milwaukeechidlrenschoir.org.

I am excited for the many positive steps MCC is taking to strengthen our mission and continue providing the best choral music education for Milwaukee youth. Despite the significant impact COVID-19 has had on us, we continue to focus on enhancing and expanding our programs. Of course, we haven’t done this work alone. We thank you, our supporters, for providing life-changing experiences for our singers. Only together can Milwaukee Children’s Choir be a success. We look forward to connecting with all of you during our 2020-2021 season.

Warmest regards,

Joe Ciancaglini
Board President
