Chorister Stunts for the Virtual Performance

During the What the World Needs Now virtual concert, MCC Preparatory Choir singers performed stunts for their piece Seize the Day. From the Broadway hit musical Newsies, the song motivates us to become more active within our community, no matter our age. Everyone is allowed a seat at the table. It truly was a fantastic song choice by Preparatory Choir Conductor Kaila Bingen for our concert theme.

Newsies is well-known for having a specific style of dancing – jumps, kicks, and rolls. The choreography is beautiful, and our choristers wanted to recreate the same! With the pandemic still in full swing, and limited ability to record stunts during the Virtual Concert Recording Event in mid-April, choristers were asked to record their stunts in their homes. It was a great opportunity to get a look into our singers’ home lives and have them record something fun on their own.
