Wow, what an amazing end to our 2020-2021 season! During a pandemic when singing became one of the most dangerous activities, MCC singers persisted. We moved our in-person activities online and our choristers continued to grow through the process. Now we see they have come out the other side of this storm brighter and more boisterous. We could not be prouder of them.

In case you missed our singers’ performances this past season, or maybe you just want to watch them again and again, you can see them anytime by visiting our YouTube Channel. You’ll hear our choristers sing about supporting each other and celebrating uniqueness, all while spreading love. They will truly melt your heart.

With a tough, yet amazing season behind us, we now are looking ahead and couldn’t be more thrilled by what we see. This includes bringing Artistic Director Rachel Maki on from a part-time role to full-time. Ms. Maki was announced as Artistic Director in May 2020. Over the past year, she proved to be the ideal individual to collaborate with the MCC staff, Board and community to carry the organization’s foundational ideas forward, while writing a new chapter in the Choir’s history – a chapter where musical excellence is rooted in accessible, inclusive, and diverse artistic initiatives.

We also look forward to supporting the Choir and our Conductors as we move into a post-pandemic world with in-person events and concerts. After an 18-month hiatus of in-person events, we are excited to return to celebrating our singers together in one room.

Despite everything being so different for our community and choristers over the past year, the MCC is still here and helping keep music alive. As we look ahead towards out 2021-2022 season, we remain committed to Milwaukee youth, their education, and their passion for singing.

And remember, we have a lot to look forward to because of you. Without your support, we would have never overcome the insurmountable obstacles brought by the pandemic. But we did, and we are so grateful to you and everyone who believed in our singers and programming. You are an essential member of this organization, and the MCC Board of Directors cannot thank you enough.

With Warm Regards,

Joe Ciancaglini
Board President
