This past holiday season was a busy one for many of our singers. We are so thrilled to see them use their voices outside the Choir, we just had to share.

Preparatory Choir members Will, Annalise, Jace, and Lainey, along with Lyric Chorale chorister Robin, performed in The Rep’s annual A Christmas Carol. A Christmas Carol is one of the best-known and loved stories in the English language. During the course of one memorable Christmas Eve, the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Future help Scrooge discover that it is never too late to change his miserly ways. Hear more from MCC singer Lainey talk about her role as Tiny Tim: link.

Lyric Chorale and Milwaukee Youth Chorale singers also participated in Bel Canto Chorus’ annual Christmas in the Basilica. Audiences listened to beloved carols and hymns, John Rutter’s Gloria, and joined in for a few audience sing-alongs in the breathtaking grandeur of the Basilica. This is the second year MCC singers joined Bel Canto for their performance, and it is a wonderful opportunity for them to learn from adult singers.

Lyric Choral singer Ethan was selected to sing with the MSO for The Snowman on December 17. A heart-warming animated film, The Snowman has been a cherished staple of family holiday entertainment for over thirty years. The Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra performed Howard Blake’s beautiful score, including the song “Walking in the Air,” live to film for the first time ever at the Bradley Symphony Center. It was a beautiful event that Ethan was so proud to have participated in.

Preparatory Choir singer Alex sang a solo with the Master Singers of Milwaukee for their performance Come Home for the Holidays on November 19 and 20. This concert featured a combination of holiday-themed selection and choral music exploring the concept of coming home.

Finally, Lyric Choral singer Ana Sofia read a story for a virtual presentation for Martin Luther King Jr. Day with the Ozaukee County Equity Roundtable. Virtual attendees enjoyed music, dance, prayers, and poetry in  honor of Dr. King’s legacy. Ana Sofia had the  privilege to read the story of “Lift Ev’ry Voice and Sing”.
